Cason Yong Amongst Pupil Pledge Honourees

In a commendable testament to their dedication to the principles of justice, Cason Yong, a pupil at Coram Chambers currently in his second six, has been recognised by Advocate for his commitment to pro bono work. This acknowledgement is part of a broader initiative to promote a culture of service and responsibility within the legal profession.

The Pupil Pledge, a commendable initiative encouraging pupils to engage in pro bono legal work, has garnered attention not only for its significance but also for the exemplary individuals it has celebrated. Alongside Cason, other noteworthy recipients include Natalya Evans from FOURTEEN and Abigail Holmes of Deans Court Chambers. Each of these aspiring barristers has demonstrated outstanding commitment to serving the community and upholding the ethos of pro bono practice.

Cason’s recognition serves as a reminder of the crucial role that legal practitioners play in advocating for those in need. By undertaking pro bono work starting from their second six, pupils can not only enhance their practical skills but also contribute positively to society.

He has also worked with the Queen Mary Legal Advice Centre (QMLAC) on their SPITE Project, which provides free legal advice to victims whose intimate images or videos have been shared, or have been threatened to be shared, without their consent.

At Coram Chambers, we express our heartfelt gratitude to Cason, Natalya, Abigail, and all of our pupils who uphold the values of service and integrity in their practice. Their efforts reflect the highest ideals of the legal profession. Let us continue championing the spirit of pro bono work as we strive for a more equitable society.
