About Us
Our Story
When Coram Chambers was founded after a successful merger of two specialist family law groups in 1999, Martha Cover met with the head of a PR firm. At 8:00 am, Martha was there, with her pencil eagerly poised, while the PR Head began to set out the problems Coram would encounter. Second or third on her list was that “the top boys in each chambers will be lobbying and fighting for pole position in the new set, but pretending that they are not doing anything of the kind.” She continued on until Martha asked her whether she was referring only to men, as the top people in both chambers were women. She put down her pen and laughed, saying: “You’ll have no problems”. We didn’t and we still don’t.
