Coram Chambers celebrates barristers named on Pro Bono Recognition List

Coram Chambers is delighted to announce that three of its barristers – Maya Achan, Alex Clift and Dr Bianca Jackson – have been named on the Pro Bono Recognition List 2026.

Recognising outstanding pro bono commitment

The Pro Bono Recognition List, now in its third year, honours legal professionals across England and Wales who have dedicated at least 25 hours to pro bono work in the past year. The initiative, supported by the Law Society, the Bar Council, and the Attorney General’s Pro Bono Committee, spotlights the vital contribution of solicitors, barristers and other legal experts to access to justice.

A message from the Lady Chief Justice

The Lady Chief Justice of England and Wales, The Baroness Carr of Walton-on-the-Hill, congratulated all those recognised. She emphasised the value of pro bono work as part of the justice system, noting its importance alongside legal aid and advice services. The Baroness also commended those who have appeared on the list for multiple years, highlighting their ongoing dedication to helping individuals and charities.

A proud tradition of service

Maya, Alex and Bianca have continued the long tradition of legal professionals volunteering their expertise. Their recognition reflects both their personal commitment and Coram Chambers’ values.

Pro bono work is not a substitute for legal aid, but it remains essential for many who might not otherwise receive help. The judiciary sees daily the positive impact this assistance makes.

Coram Chambers is proud of Maya, Alex and Bianca’s achievements and applauds their service to the community. Their recognition on the Pro Bono Recognition List 2026 inspires continued dedication to access to justice for all.
