Sarah Branson and Team Swim English Channel

Join Sarah Branson from Coram Chambers as she embarks on a midnight swim across the English Channel with her dedicated team. Discover their journey, preparations, and how you can support them.

Sarah Branson, barrister with Coram Chambers, is making waves as part of a committed team of swimmers preparing for an exhilarating challenge: swimming the English Channel to France. This endeavour is set to take place on Friday 11 July, under the breathtaking glow of the Buck moon, at the stroke of midnight.

Accompanying the team on this ambitious crossing will be the boat aptly named “High Hopes,” which you can track live here.

This spirited group of women, all over 45 and surprisingly calm under pressure, are not your average swimmers. They may not be the fastest in the water, but what they lack in speed, they make up for with determination and camaraderie.

Though the team is well-prepared, various unpredictable factors could challenge their journey. With the tides and weather conditions playing a crucial role in their success, every aspect needs careful consideration. “It won’t be through lack of preparation,” Sarah states confidently. “They say it’s the training that changes you, and I’ve logged over 550 hours of swimming since last October.”

If you would like to support Sarah in her endeavours, you can still contribute to her fundraising efforts here. With your help, this extraordinary group strives not just to complete the swim but to showcase their tenacity and dedication to a worthy cause.
