Coram Chambers to host first Adoption Forum: Shaping best practice in family law

Coram Chambers hosts the first Adoption Forum on 19th November 2025 in London. The conference unites professionals, parents, and adopted people to develop best practice in adoption and contact.

On Wednesday, 19th November 2025, Coram Chambers will host the inaugural Adoption Forum at 9-11 Fullwood Place, London WC1V 6HG, from 12:00 PM – 5:00 PM.

HHJ Stephen Wildblood KC, mediator and arbitrator, chairs the event. Sarah Beskine, co-founder, project lead, and convener, and Sophie Hill, co-founder, convener, and barrister at Coram Chambers, have brought this unique event to life.

This conference brings together birth and adoptive parents, adopted people and leading professionals from every corner of the adoption community.

Alongside expert speakers, group discussions and vital networking, participants can add their names as contributors to a collaborative working document.

This living document, developed in workshops and furthered at a remote meeting in March 2026, aims to become a best practice guide for adoption and contact – potentially for use in court.

Speakers include researchers, legal practitioners and those with direct adoption experience. Topics range from legal developments to real–world family challenges.
Everyone will have a chance to ask questions and share their voice, so that their input will help shape the future of adoption practice.

Coram Chambers recognises the power of dialogue in adoption. This forum is part of our commitment to advancing education and progress in family law, listening to the voices of lived experience, and learning from research and the experiences of legal professionals.

Adoption England is contributing towards delegate travel costs, and Coram and Our Family Wizard are both sponsoring the event. We believe that by sharing knowledge, we can improve outcomes for children and families.

The conversation continues with a remote meeting in spring 2026.

Most places are already taken, and we will report back on results and findings from this event. If you would like to attend, please send a message and also indicate whether you would like to participate in the remote meeting in Spring 2026, which has a larger capacity and offers more places for delegates.
