Coram Chambers invites aspiring barristers to apply for pupillage beginning in October 2027. The application portal is now open and will close at 23:59 on 22nd January 2026, in line with the Pupillage Gateway timetable. Access the application form via our website.
A supportive and personalised training experience
Our comprehensive training is tailored to each pupil’s interests. Pupils benefit from mentoring and guidance by members at all levels. Formal assessments begin only as pupils approach their second six, giving plenty of time to settle in.
We run a mock advocacy and written work scheme throughout the year. This prepares pupils for practice before they begin their own cases.
Mentoring and peer support
Every pupil is supported not only by supervisors, but also by a ‘buddy’ – a junior member who has recently completed pupillage. This ensures both formal and informal support is always available. As Srishti Suresh, Barrister and Co-head of Pupillage, has said, “What I love about Coram Chambers is that people are invested in each other’s successes and are right next to them during their difficult moments.”
Broad experience across high-profile work
Pupils have three supervisors throughout the year, each seat lasting four months. This covers the full range of work undertaken in chambers. Pupils can expect exposure to leading and high-profile cases. Recent cases have gone before the UK Supreme Court, the Court of Appeal and the European Court of Human Rights. Members have also worked in the BIOT and the Inter-American Court of Human Rights.
