About Me

Neil is a specialist children’s law barrister, who represents parents and children in all levels of court.

His main area of practice is in public law proceedings concerning children. He also acts in private law proceedings in which he is frequently instructed on behalf of the child by NYAS and CAFCASS.

An increasing proportion of his work, in public law and private law cases involve representing the children through their Guardian.
He is also frequently instructed in Wardship/Inherent Jurisdiction cases.

Neil is regarded as something of an expert in issues concerning same sex relationships.

Neil is often instructed in complex public law and private law cases involving allegations of non-accidental injury and sexual or emotional abuse, drug or alcohol abuse; and where there are issues relating to psychiatric or psychological ill-health. He is also frequently instructed in intractable contact disputes, where the issue of residence of the child remains in issue.

Neil is a powerful and persuasive advocate, whose cross-examination skills and submissions are second to none.

Neil is exceptionally good with his clients, who find him easy to talk to, as he explains the court process to them taking account of their vulnerabilities. He has a sensitive manner with his clients, who he dedicated to, and has the ability to put them at ease.

He is known for the thoroughness of his preparation and will leave no stone unturned.

Neil is liked and respected by his colleagues at the Bar and by solicitors. He has an exceptionally good court manner, and is listened to by Judges. He has the ability to present any case in its best possible light.

Neil is someone who will fight your case.
