Following on from our partnership with the 7stars foundation, Coram Chambers are thrilled to announce the launch of the Shine Bright Fund- a dedicated national fund of £30k for helping some of the most vulnerable children across the U.K. in the midst of the COVID-19 lockdown.
Coram have been partners with the7stars foundation since 2018 as one of its UK regional partners. We will administrate funding to vulnerable young people directly and hope that this will be an opportunity to establish a substantial response from family lawyers to participate directly.
Coram is collaborating with the7stars foundation across London and the South-East, with a grant allocation of £3,000.00 to be made available to their trusted network of frontline social workers, support workers, children’s solicitors and children’s guardians.
- Grants are available to young people of up to £150 per individual, to provide educational and art materials; toys; books; and emotional support items.
- Items are to be purchased by the applicants on behalf of the young person
- Funding is not able to be provided where duplicate funding is available via statutory provision (e.g. through the DfE laptop scheme).
- Applicants are asked to provide a short report regarding proof of expenditure and progress achieved within a month of receiving the grant to the7stars foundation.
The grants are to provide educational tools or technology, art materials, toys, books, and/or emotional support items. Our aim is to give relief, respite, happiness and fun in a time of anxiety and worry.
Funding will be administrated from the7stars foundation directly, which has committed resources to release funds to the approved grants as quickly as possible. Richard Yorke, will work with the foundation to make recommendations on any applications received.
If you wish to apply, please write to firstname.lastname@example.org, with a short summary of the circumstances of the young person, what the grant will be spent on and your (the applicant’s) role as referee.
Coram invites you to circulate this grant scheme information as widely as possible to your professional and personal networks.
