Today, the Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse issued its Investigation Report, outlining its examination into the dealing with and response to child sexual abuse allegations in the Roman Catholic Church and English Benedictine Congregation.
The inquiry, which held hearings in November, focused on two schools, Ampleforth (Yorkshire) and Downside (Somerset), and their treatment of children over the last 25 years. An interim report had been published in April, with the final conclusions and recommendations coming out in this Report.
Alex Laing was instructed by the English Benedictine Congregation, including Downside School, to provide legal advice on a discrete issue in relation to the Inquiry.
