East London Family Court Rules: Orphan Girl should be told that her Father Killed her Mother before Killing Himself when she Comes of Age

NAA was left orphaned after her father, who had a history of domestic violence, strangled her mother to death in their London home in 2016. HHJ Carol Atkinson stated that the remaining family may not give an accurate account of what happened to her parents so it is left to the state to intervene.

Mark Twomey QC led Anna Walsh on behalf of the local authority and Chris Archer represented NAA.

The High Court will decide whether NAA will be adopted here in the UK and in turn sever all links to her birth family back home (from a non-Hague country). The final hearing will take place in March 2018.

The case has also been reported in the Daily Mail.
