Last month, Marcia Hyde participated in a multi-disciplinary training on “Demystifying the Paediatric Assessment”, hosted by the NHS Trust in the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
The training gathered professionals from around the borough including police, social workers and medical professionals, with a focus on those who are involved with child sexual abuse cases.
In the afternoon session, Marcia gave a seminar titled, “Evidence in sexual abuse investigations – Legal perspectives” to the +100 attendees. Her seminar focused on instances where a child is a witness in Court and discussed ABE guidelines, case law updates and practical guidance for the gathering of evidence and sharing of information in child sexual abuse investigations.
This type of multiagency study day is a tremendous learning event, and will hopefully improve professionals’ practices and transform how child sexual abuse is managed. We were delighted that Coram could play a role in helping the industry learn more about the legal perspectives in this area.
