Katy has extensive experience in all aspects of family law, with an emphasis on public children law and adoption cases.  She represents parents, children, foster carers and other related parties in both private and public children law proceedings. She has a particular interest in representing   "alternative families".

Prior to joining the Bar, Katy practised as a solicitor and solicitor – advocate. She was a partner and head of the family law department of Levenes solicitors,   before moving on to practice as a freelance advocate and consultant with Eskinazi and Co, a specialist child care law practice in North London.

Katy was the conducting solicitor in a number of reported cases:

Re J (Abduction:Declaration of wrongful Removal) [1999] 2 FLR 653

Re D (Evidence:Facilitated Communication) [2001] 1 FLR 148

P v R (Forced Marriage:Annulment Procedure) [2003] WFLR 661/ [2003]FAM LAW 162

R (on the application of A and Others v London Borough of Newham) [2008]EWHC 2646 [2009]1 FCR 545.

She was an active member of the Law Society Family Law Sub Committee and her involvement in policy issues continues through her membership of the Family Justice Diversity Sub Committee.

Katy also provides training on children and family law to voluntary sector organisations.

She has a working knowledge of French.
