Areas of Practice
All forms of Children work including public law work for local authorities, parents and children, adoption and fostering, private law children’s work and Rule 9.5 Guardian work.
Ancillary Relief applications and Schedule 1 of the Children Act 1989 claims.
Cohabitee disputes over property and children, cohabite disputes over ownership of property including resulting and constructive trusts, proprietary estoppel and Trusts of Land and Trustee Act applications.
I have considerable experience in non accidental injury cases involving serious injury or death of a child and cases involving baby shaking and head injuries in very young children. I have also developed expertise in sexual abuse cases involving cross examination of young and vulnerable witnesses. Experience in cases where there are ongoing and concurrent care and criminal proceedings taking place and the particular difficulties the different jurisdictions cause. I have wide experience of cohabitee disputes involving property and beneficial interests and quantifying those interests.

Involved in cases on adoption law and Section 84 of the Adoption and Children Act 2002 (the ten week rule), foreign adoptions, issue estoppel and res judicata in children cases.
Relevant Training of Teaching
I have lectured on Cohabitees – both on property, children and wills and pensions. I have also given a number of training sessions to Social workers concerning the presentation of cases for court, forensic issues and the giving of evidence.
