Children

Neil is a children law specialist and has extensive experience in care proceedings, adoption and private law disputes within families.  He acts mainly for children, guardians and parents and is instructed by NYAS, CAFCASS Legal and CAFCASS. 

He has extensive experience of cases involving non-accidental injury, neglect and the physical, sexual and emotional abuse of children.  He has a particular interest in cases involving drug and alcohol issues and those involving mental health issues and personality vulnerabilities.  He has specialist knowledge of HIV and paediatric HIV issues. 

He regularly represents disadvantaged and vulnerable clients.  He has recently been involved in a number of cases in which his child client has given oral evidence.

He was appointed a Deputy District Judge (Civil) in 2003 and is also a non-practising member of the State Bar of California.

He is a serving member of the Bar Council’s Equality & Diversity Committee.
