Ancillary Relief
Danielle Lewis undertakes both private and
public law child care work and ancillary relief.
She appears in all forums from the Family
Proceedings Courts to the High Court. In
public law cases she is instructed by local
authorities, parents and guardians, such cases
including those involving serious physical
abuse, neglect, sexual abuse and factitious
illness disorder. In private law cases she
represents applicants and respondents across the
full range of child-related issues, including
residence and contact disputes, removal from the
jurisdiction and family law injunctions. She
also represents applicants and respondents in
ancillary relief cases and Children Act Schedule
1 applications.
Danielle has appeared recently in cases
involving:

applications for Care Orders: EPOs, contested
ICOs, contact hearings, threshold hearings,
final hearings;
·
applications
for discharge of Care Orders;
·
adoption;
·
parents
with addictions to drug and alcohol;
·
removal
from the jurisdiction both in the short term and
permanently;
·
implacably hostile parents;
·
clients
with psychiatric and psychological problems;
·
residence
and contact applications involving allegations
of significant harm;
·
domestic
violence from initial injunctive / emergency
intervention through to contested proceedings in
respect of the children; and
·
ancillary
relief proceedings at all stages from written
advice through to final hearing.
Before coming
to the Bar, Danielle worked as an investigation
officer for the Parliamentary
Ombudsman for the Health Service.

is a trained mediator.
